Hello! I have a pair of nautical baby booties to share with you today. These are made with Papertrey's Baby Booties dies and Patches dies. I wanted to make them a bit nautical because my soon to be born grandson Henry's room is decorated in a nautical theme. I found some booties on Pinterest with a fairly easy looking sailboat pattern, so I tried to reproduce it on my booties. Not totally successful at it - the sailboats are a bit different, but let's just chalk that up to "handmade".
I had a heck of a time stitching these together for some reason. Must be a bit dyslexic today. I have a sneaky feeling that I have two right shoes, but Baby's feet are just going to have to adjust. :) Henry is due to be born the end of September/early October. Enjoy! Thanks for stopping by today!

Papertrey Make-it-Monday #171: Pop Up Die Cuts
Hello! I am stopping by with a quick card for this week's Make-it-Monday over on Nicole Heady's blog here. This week Betsy Veldman showed us how to partially cut our dies. She had a beautiful example of this over on Nicole's blog. I chose to use the Leaf Prints dies and stamps for my card. I chose two different leaves and partially cut them on my card front.
I then used the corresponding stamps to stamp over the die cuts. I backed the die cut card front with some Dear Jane script paper for interest. I then sponged on some Distress ink to add some color and then wet everything down with water to soften it.
I love the result! Thanks for stopping by!

My First Pair of Papertrey Baby Booties!
Hello! I wanted to share my first pair of Papertrey Baby Booties with you! I hesitated the month these dies came out (I think it was April), and before I could make up my mind, they were out of stock. It has taken a really long time to get them back in stock. Time for me to drool over everyone else's gorgeous booties. A month or so ago, I went ahead and ordered the Baby Bootie Patches and the Baby Bootie Detail dies, for fear that they would be OOS when the main Baby Bootie dies came in. So FINALLY, last week I got an email from PTI (I had signed up for the new "Notify Me"), letting me know that the main Baby Bootie dies had come in. I ordered them immediately, and waited. They arrived in the mail this weekend while I was away (of course). But I pulled them out today to play. I have been thinking about doing some silk embroidery on the front of the pretty eyelet oval ever since I'd seen these dies.
I'm just a beginner at silk embroidery, so don't look too closely! I did all the embroidery on the oval before attaching it to the shoe so all the backside messiness was concealed. :)
I had quite the time trying to stitch the sole to the upper part. I had read about the discrepancy of the number of holes on each of these dies, so I think I was probably over-thinking it. I made a few mistakes, and had to un-stitch some of it. I'm still not too sure I got them right, but at this point I am satisfied with them.
These are just so dang cute! I don't know if I can give them away - I think they will be my "test" pair and sit on my desk for future inspiration. I can't wait to try out some other silk embroidery patterns on another pair! I need to come up with something for my new baby grandson coming in October. :) What do you think of these?
