Hello! I am stopping by with a quick card for this week's Make-it-Monday over on Nicole Heady's blog here. This week Betsy Veldman showed us how to partially cut our dies. She had a beautiful example of this over on Nicole's blog. I chose to use the Leaf Prints dies and stamps for my card. I chose two different leaves and partially cut them on my card front.
I then used the corresponding stamps to stamp over the die cuts. I backed the die cut card front with some Dear Jane script paper for interest. I then sponged on some Distress ink to add some color and then wet everything down with water to soften it.
I love the result! Thanks for stopping by!
VERY pretty card! Never even thought to use a leaf die...great thinking! Love the script DSP behind the leaves too! :0)
ReplyDeleteWow, Susan!! I LOVE this card! It looks like the leaves are falling and blowing in the wind. Great colors and love the softness the distress inks and water added.
ReplyDeleteI love the results, too! Just super!
ReplyDeletePerfectly executed, Susan - love the texture & layers!
ReplyDeleteHow awesome! The leaves are beautiful and it's so fun to see the paper under them.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. The Dear Jane script paper is perfect.
ReplyDeleteMmmmm!! Lovely! I especially love the script paper behind your leaves!

I'm loving all your "stuff", Susan. I've gone back for a number of posts to see what all you've been up to and I'm impressed. Your die cut card is what brought me here and you did a wonderful job on it. I also love your quilting page. I have one but haven't posted many quilts on it, so you've inspired me to get busy. I'll be following you from now on.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bobby! I don't update my quilting page as often as I'd like to. I have a couple things I've finished recently that I need to get on there! An grandson quilt is on the way too!
DeleteLove you popped up leaves
ReplyDeleteSusan, these leaves have been one of my favorite sets, and your use of them here in the MIM exhibit is amazing. Little Mabel
ReplyDeleteAmazing results! Lovely, lovely card, Susan!
