Papertrey Ink November Blog Hop

Hello! I am excited to participate in the PTI November Blog Hop! The challenge this month was to create Christmas package tags and share them on our blog. Lucklily, I spent a good bit of time making mine last week. I fashioned mine after the tags Heather Nichols made here. They were so much fun to make with the Tiny Treats Stamp set, Tag Sale #2, and the Limitless Layers dies.
Here's a picture of them - thanks for looking! Have a wonderful Christmas!

WaltzingMouse Tag-You're It Challenge

Hello! Claire over at WaltzingMouse stamps is running a contest for creating a glamorous Christmas tag. My entry is below - it does not use traditional Christmas colors - more of a snowy, frosty color theme. I used stamps from Very Vintage Christmas from WMS, Aqua Mist cardstock from PTI, Spellbinders Labels 10, a few pearls, some wrinkle ribbon I dyed, and plenty of crystal glitter! Hope you like it!

Wreath stamp set from PTI

I received the Wreath for all Seasons set from PTI from the September release and have been using it over and over. It is so versatile! This is a card for my daughter and son-in-law for their anniversary. I also made the same card for a friend's sons' wedding. The background and sentiment are from the Embellishment set from the August PTI release. I used Versafine Olympia Green ink for the wreath and sentiment, and VersaMagic Perfect Plumeria chalk ink for the background and berries. I added some clear Stickles to the berries to make them sparkle. The edge of the front piece is punched with a Martha Stewart edge punch. The white paper is PTI and the pale purple is just some random cardstock from my stash. Ribbon is from my stash too. Thanks for looking!

Christmas Card Playing

I just received two really neat stamp sets a couple days ago and this is the first time I've had the opportunity to play with them. One of the sets, Nutcracker Sweet has two larger nutcrackers that stamp wonderfully crisp. I also just bought some copic markers and have been playing around with them - learning to blend and shade with them. I have a long way to go on that! Anyway, here's my first Christmasy card for the season. Hope you enjoy!

I used stamp sets Nutcracker Sweet and Musical Backgrounds from Waltzingmouse, Enchanted Evening cardstock from PTI and copic markers B95, B97, B99, V91, V95, V99, E55, E57, E59, YG91, YG93, YG95, a spellbinders fancy tag die, and Antique Linen Distress ink.

WMS Sketch Challenge #15

WaltzingmouseStamps

Hello! Waltzingmouse stamps has a sketch challenge every week. Here is the sketch for this week - #15:
Here is my interpretation of that sketch:
The stamps I used were from Very Vintage Christmas and Nutcracker Sweet - which I just received in the mail 2 days ago. What fun it is to play with new stamps! I just love the snowflake in the background. I stamped them with Versamark ink and embossed them with white embossing powder. The little squares are from the Very Vintage Christmas set and are stamped on Ocean Tides PTI paper with Fresh snow ink and then punched out with a 3/4" punch. The tag is a spellbinders fancy tag. The saying is from Nutchracker Sweet. The card base is kraft paper from PTI.

Thanks for looking! Have a blessed day!

WMS Challenge #11

WaltzingmouseStamps
Hello! Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I am participating in the Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge #11 today. This gave me a good opportunity to put a specialty punch to use. Here is the sketch for this week:

My interpretation is kind of backwards, but it's the best I could come up with. :) Here it is:
It's hard to see in the picture, but I went over the main circle stamp and all the smaller stamps with a clear sparkle gel pen. It really adds a sparkle to it!  I hope you enjoy it! Have a great day and thanks again for stopping by!

I used WMS stamps Victorian Frippery, PTI Aqua mist cardstock, ribbon and pearls from my stash, PTI Aqua Mist ink, and the Multi-Shaper from allDeco Punch.

PTI July Blog Hop

This is my second post for today - please scroll down form my WMS sketch challenge. Thanks!

Hello! This will be my first PTI Blog Hop - I'm so glad to finally get to participate! The challenge this month is to use office products with our cards to "jazz" them up. I do alot of work on the computer, as I'm sure alot of you all do too, so I started thinking about computer related office projects. My daughter is getting married in October, and I thought it would be fun to create a dvd with pictures of her and her fiance during their years of dating. So I've decorated the dvd front and enclosed it inside a card envelope for her on her wedding day. Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies used: PTI Stamps: Delightful Dahlia, It's Official, Just the Ticket, Signature Greetings, Card from Paper Source, Heart paper clips from Michaels, Crinkle ribbon from my stash

WMS Sketch 7-24-10

Hello! Welcome to my blog! I've just started blogging and trying to come up interesting things to share. Today, I made a card to enter in the Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge for the week of July 24. Each Saturday, Claire and her team come up with a new sketch for us to design a card around. I think it's alot of fun and it makes me think outside the box that I normally create in. Here is the sketch for this week and then following is my rendition of it. Thanks for looking!
My interpretation of the sketch:

I used WMS Stamps sets Picnic Patterns, Rescue Remedies Additions, Asian Gardens and Vintage Labels 4. I also used PTI white, spring rain, and kraft paper, as well as Stardust Stickles on the background to give it some bling. Hop on over to the sketch blog here to see the rest of the entries.

Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge #1

This is my first ever sketch challenge! I just started my blog about a month ago, for the express purpose of being able to participate in these challenges. I just received my first shipment of Waltzing Mouse stamps with the May release and I've had so much fun using them! This is my take on Sketch challenge #1, although I've already realized that my card isn't square like the sketch. Hopefully it will pass and I promise I'll pay better attention next time.
I used Papertrey CS, WMS stamps "Say it with Style" and "Vintage Circles", Hero Arts stamp "Old French Writing", Spellbinders Impressabilities Floral, Papertrey Ocean Tides and Aqua Mist Ink, and Pearls Pearls.
Thanks for looking! Have a great day !

Ordered Craft Room Furniture!

Well, I took the leap and ordered furniture for my 2nd craft room yesterday! I already have a bedroom upstairs in our home dedicated to quilting - complete with a HUGE closet full of fabric and other quilt related items.
I was trying to do my cardmaking in the closet of that room on a tiny little surface designed to hold my serger. I have definitely outgrown that space and needed to  expand. My computer is downstairs in our basement, which is partially finished (one side of it). I decided to purchase two bookshelves and a table top to create an area like a kitchen island, similar to Pottery Barn's Project Table. A local store in  my area, Solid Woods, has a man that makes bookshelves which are 13" x 13" cubbies stacked together. Each bookcase is nine cubbies. The tabletop will be made out of oak, and the bookcases are made out of pine. I will probably paint the bookshelves black and stain the oak tabletop, putting an acrylic mat on top of it to protect it. Since I was able to create this table area so much cheaper than Potttery Barn's equivalent, I was able to purchase a 3 x 6 cubbie bookshelf also, and two bar stools to go up to the table. It should take 3-4 weeks to come in, then I will begin the finishing process.

I will probably get baskets to store things in the bookshelf cubbies like punches and paper. I will put up pictures when the furniture arrives.

Just the beginning...

This will be my first post to my blog. I intend to post pictures of the things I enjoy doing on this blog. Things like making handmade cards, quilts and other gifts, designing digital scrapbook pages, and sharing pictures of my family and my kittys. I hope you enjoy what you see, and learn something every now and then. Thanks for stopping by! Susan :)
